Kid - High Line Trail, Glacier National Park - July 2006

We saw this young mountain kid with its mother along the famed High Line Trail in Glacier National Park.
The creatures are very gentle and to see one so young and up-close added to the day.
Along the 14 mile route we saw ram, mountain goat, deer and a grizzly bear with it's cub.
Obviously the bear didn't make it because I was too terrified, err, well, amazed that I actually saw one close.

Brook Trout - Blackfoot River, MT - July 2006

If you have ever seen the movie 'A River Runs Through It" then you will be familiar with the Blackfoot River. Truly one of the most inspiring places to fish the river is surrounded by rocky gorges and ice-blue glacial run-off.
I caught all species of trout this day - a remarkable feat according to my guide, Drew.
It is tough to get over the beauty and color of trout.

Superhero - Dallas, TX - January 2006

Alicia and I attended the demolition of a building outside downtown Dallas one cold morning.
I thought that seeing the building implode before us was going to be the most interesting part of my day until a blue scooter pulled-up alongside us.
Alas, this is one brave soul. I commend the courage. He must be a superhero incognito.

Socks - Spanish Fort, TX - March 2007

The Brown Ranch, where we hunt, is also a working horse ranch. This is horse seemed to be wearing business socks and has a striking color and frame.

A Hard Earned Drink - Spanish Fort, TX - March 2007

This picture is of our hunting dogs - Mariah, Beck and Sassy grabbing a quick drink before runs.
They are phenomenally talented and a joy to watch.

Liam Sleeping 3 - Plano, TX - March 12, 2007

One of my favorite aspects of this photo is the use of depth of field for the foreground and background of Liam.
Depth of field is powerful and I am enjoying learning how to use it, and not use it, effectively.

Liam Sleeping - Plano, TX - March 12, 2007

My respect for mothers across the world, galaxy and universe has risen to near worship status.
Alicia is a phenomenal mother and feeding late at night every two hours is exhausting. But night after night she takes on the responsibility with excitement and joy. In-order for me to stay awake (being a male, my dairy equipment does not function), I like to take photos during the break between feedings or when Liam is sleeping. A fantastic time for shooting.

Feeding Log - Plano, TX - March 10, 2007

The infamous "Dairy Log". We do our best to keep the nurses up-to-date with all the utter action we are giving to Liam.

Liam's Feet - Plano,TX - March 10, 2007

There is something engaging about the foot of a newborn. The wrinkles, color, tone and petite features are a joy to look at.

Joyful Bliss - Presbyterian Hospital - March 8,2007

With tears running down my wife's face and a smile of complete contentment, Alicia is experiencing the power of creating and giving life. Finally, after 9 months of work, body changes and preparation her joy is realized.

First Breath - Presbyterian Hospital - March 8, 2007

This is the birth of my son. What an amazing miracle to behold, what an astounding gift to be blessed with. I love this photo because of the lighting on Liam that brings the focus to him. I am thankful for this pictorial memory.
